I’m Back!

Sorry for the almost-two-week blog hiatus…I hope you’re still following along with me!

Between recovering from that last chemo, a quick trip to visit Brandon’s 98 year old grandma in VA (and two of his aunts, too!), adjusting to watching the kids by myself again, Thanksgiving, shopping, Christmas decorating, and more shopping — I’ve barely had time to sleep…much less blog!

Plus, I’ve been operating without my laptop and now we’re without the desktop, too.  The good news is, I will have a “healed” laptop by Thursday!  Woohoo.  A very special Thank You to the Williams family for that random act of kindness! In the meantime, my  mom let me borrow her laptop so I could do some Cyber Monday shopping, and of course catch up with all of you here!

***************************************

I should go back and read, but I think I have already shared with you all that my surgery is December 1 … as in, this Thursday.  Just over 48 hours.

I need to call the nurse tomorrow for some final details, but I think it is about a 5 hour surgery.  That seems like a long time.  I still have a sense of dread about it and some anxiety, but I’m hanging in there.  Would you pray for less anxiety regarding the surgery?

All along I have been worried about the pain/lifting restrictions of the surgery, but more and more I am worrying about the cosmetic implications.  We are prideful as humans, aren’t we?

So you can also pray that I don’t worry about the “boob” aspect of it all.  That I don’t worry about never breastfeeding again … which Brandon assures me I wouldn’t have to worry about anyway, mastectomy or not! 😉  —

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and say hello.  It has been a busy few weeks.  Today was the day I was scheduled to take my last chemo until they pulled the plug on that.  I am SO very thankful that I didn’t have to endure those last two treatments!

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Gobble, Gobble…!

Another craft the girls made with Aunt Judy!

I’ll  be back tomorrow!   Goodnight!

Dear Candace, We will be praying! Somehow we didn’t realize your surgery would be done so quickly. Bless you!
We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving. Larry and his family came; Mike and Lee live down the lane (they baked the 25lb turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce); Grandaughter Sarah made my Broccli Salad; Krystina steamed artichokes and made a delicious fruit salad! I did the Sweet Potato Casserole! It was so special to see our granddaughters working in my kitchen! (We bought the pies from Sams Club this year!)
I love reading your “updates” but we love you & feel blessed to be a part of your journey!

    The turkeys are too cute!
