Down on the farm…

So many good memories of growing up and the big green tractor. Riding up high with papa down that steep river road, driving it myself in a bathing suit top – trying to get a tan as I mowed the fields, loading up that big old trailer with firewood…

It was a welcome surprise to wake up from my nap and see it out the window!

Lots of ups and downs during my recovery here. The pain comes and goes. I’m trying to do without my pain medicine, but just haven’t been ready yet. The hot flashes come and go! I thought they would be a thing of the past with the taxol, but they are here in full force.

Brandon has been bringing the kids down every afternoon, and I love that!
Cadence has been a little standoffish, but last night she asked if she could cuddle beside me and then asked me if I could come home with her. She said she missed me at night. ❀

Ella was the first to worm her way up into my lap. I love to see how she is trying to be gentle with me. She's so sweet. Her vocabulary seems to have grown just in the past five days and she seems so much older!

Wade also continues to grow so fast…and he's *almost* walking now. He can, he just doesn't. Stinker. πŸ™‚

Can't wait to have the kids around me again all the time!

Love the tractor. Glad to hear the kids are visiting. Ella sounds adorable with her cuddles. Sending my love.

  2. Take the pain meds. You don’t get any kind of award for toughing it out.
Glad you’re getting time with the kids!

Wait a minute…I don’t see John Deere on that there tractor! Say it isn’t so!

Take what you need to be comfortable. Mending takes time and you need to be gentle with yourself. The visits must be so special and your time together so sweet. In no time you will be home and with them full time . Your green tractor is to you what the yellow pick-up truck was to me. Childhood memories – so nice.

I agree with taking the medicine. Sorry you’re having such pain. Hope it goes away soon. Love your blog (and the tractor πŸ™‚ ).
